Sometimes it goes through my mind that I give too much and too freely. Of course, that’s a totally selfish thing to allow in my thoughts.
"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Of course, this verse is often in conjunction with tithes and offerings, but I think it applies for every aspect of our lives. Did not Christ give always, and give freely - even when His precious gifts were not accepted? Did God not give the ultimate gift - His Son - without anything in return?
Human nature, I tell you. We are selfish beings.
Perhaps we should get into the habit of giving more, and expecting less, and make it a conscious decision every single day of our lives, in every aspect of our lives as well.
We can never give too much.
We can never love to much.
Let us give and love as Christ gave, gives, and loves.
The raindrops fall
The ground drinks it all,
Precipitation brings joys and sorrows;
The pounding on the tin roof;
The silent collection of white.
The violent winds;
The deadly ice.
The uplifted chin.
All in a tear."
I babysit for a girl who use to think her mom’s name was “my love” because her dad said it so often to her and that’s just freaking cute I can’t
Oh my bug.
